Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour or 2 cups cake flour
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan with oil.
- Beat the eggs, sugar, oil, water, vanilla, sour cream, and food coloring in a large bowl.
- Stir in the self-rising flour until the batter is smooth, then pour it into the pan.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the center springs back and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a plate and cool completely.
