Ingredients
- 1 package yellow cake mix or butter pecan which is what i prefer
- 1 package vanilla pudding
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup bacardi amber rum or 1873
- 1/4 lb butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup bacardi amber rum
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp rum flavouring
- 3 1/2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- top with toasted pecans if you like!
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 10-inch Bundt pan.
- Beat the cake mix, pudding, pecans, eggs, cold water, oil, and rum in a large bowl until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Melt the butter with the water, sugar, and rum in a saucepan over medium heat, then simmer for 3 minutes.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 5 minutes, turn it onto a plate, and pour the warm glaze over it.
- Whisk the icing sugar, rum flavoring, and cream or milk together, then drizzle the mixture over the cake.
