Ingredients
- 4 strips bacon
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups dry rigatoni pasta
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Steps
- Cook the bacon in a large pot over medium heat for 5 minutes, until crisp, then crumble it.
- Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds in the bacon fat.
- Stir in the rigatoni, heavy cream, chicken broth, salt, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring the pot to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 9 minutes, stirring often.
- Add the broccoli and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until the pasta is tender and the broccoli is crisp-tender.
- Stir in the bacon and Parmesan, then cook for 1 minute.
