Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 egg whites
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups walnut pieces
Steps
- Beat the butter, sour cream, and egg yolks in a large bowl until smooth.
- Stir in the flour to make a soft dough, cover it, and chill it for 20 minutes.
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets.
- Beat the egg whites until foamy, add the sugar gradually, and beat until firm peaks form.
- Roll the dough to one-eighth-inch thickness, cut 24 rounds, and place them on the sheets.
- Spread meringue over the rounds, sprinkle with walnuts, and bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
- Cool the cookies on the sheets for 15 minutes before removing them.
