- 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable stock
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter or vegetable oil
Steps
- Melt the butter in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in the rice and garlic powder, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the stock, water, lemon zest, lemon juice, and salt, then bring the mixture to a boil.
- Cover the saucepan, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 18 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat, rest it covered for 5 minutes, and fluff the rice with a fork.
