Ingredients

2 cups cider vinegar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp prepared mustard
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp celery seed
1 tbsp mustard seed
6 whole cloves
2 onions
12 hard-boiled large eggs

Steps

Peel the hard-boiled eggs and place them in a 2-quart heatproof jar or container.
Slice the onions and layer them around the eggs.
Boil the cider vinegar, sugar, water, mustard, salt, celery seed, mustard seed, and cloves in a 2-quart saucepan for 5 minutes.
Pour the hot brine over the eggs and onions until covered.
Cool the container at room temperature for 10 minutes, then refrigerate it.
