Ingredients
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce with basil
- 2 tbsp prepared pesto
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and lightly oil a large rimmed baking sheet.
- Mix the beef, parmesan, mozzarella, egg, two tablespoons cream, and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 18 minutes, until the meatballs reach 160 F.
- Simmer the tomato sauce, pesto, and remaining cream in a large skillet for 5 minutes.
- Add the meatballs and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring gently.
