Ingredients
- 2 cups pecans
- 6 oz 70% chocolate
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup golden syrup
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp bourbon (optional)
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 4 large eggs
- 9 inch pie crust
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a small saucepan over low heat, then remove from the heat.
- Whisk the syrup, brown sugar, cocoa, flour, bourbon, vanilla, and salt into the melted chocolate.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the pecans.
- Pour the filling into the crust and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the center is set and the eggs are firm.
- Cool the pie in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting.
