Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 cup cooked long grain rice
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 pita pocket halves
Steps
- Cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper in a large skillet over medium heat for 8 minutes, breaking up the beef.
- Stir in salt and pepper, and cook until the beef reaches 160 F.
- Add rice, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Fill the pita halves with the beef mixture and cheddar cheese.
- Warm the filled pitas in the skillet over low heat for 3 minutes, turning once, until the cheese melts.
