Ingredients
- 500 g strong white bread flour
- 200 ml milk
- 7 g sachet fast-action dried yeast
- 1/2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil plus extra for proving
- 1 egg yolk beaten
- sesame seeds for sprinkling (optional)
Steps
- Warm the milk until just warm, then stir in the yeast and sugar and rest for 5 minutes.
- Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl, add the milk mixture and olive oil, and knead for 8 minutes.
- Oil the bowl, return the dough, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 25 minutes.
- Divide the dough into nine balls, place them on a lined baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for 10 minutes.
- Heat the oven to 400 F and brush the buns with beaten egg yolk and sesame seeds.
- Bake for 15 minutes until golden and cooked through.
