Ingredients
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg + 1 large egg yolk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- sliced almonds (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets with parchment.
- Whisk the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat the butter and granulated sugar until fluffy, then beat in the egg, egg yolk, and almond extract.
- Stir in the dry mixture until a dough forms, shape it into small balls, and place them on the baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, then cool the cookies completely on a rack.
- Whisk the powdered sugar, milk, corn syrup, and almond extract, spread the glaze over the cookies, and add sliced almonds if using.
