Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp black baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 package (12 oz) large marshmallows
- 1 tbsp butter
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet.
- Beat the butter, shortening, and sugar, then mix in the egg and vanilla.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Drop spoonfuls onto the sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Cool the cookies for 10 minutes while melting the marshmallows and 1 tablespoon butter in a saucepan over low heat.
- Pull the warm marshmallow mixture into thin strands and stretch them over the cookies.
