Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp traditional yeast
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup mincemeat
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp spiced rum
Steps
- Stir warm water, warm milk, egg, one-third cup melted butter, sugar, salt, flour, and yeast into a soft dough.
- Knead the dough for 6 minutes, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a 12-by-18-inch rectangle, spread it with the remaining butter and mincemeat, then sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Roll the dough tightly, cut it into 12 pieces, and place them in a greased 9-by-13-inch pan for 15 minutes.
- Heat the oven to 350 F and bake the buns for 25 minutes, until golden and fully set.
- Mix icing sugar with rum and drizzle it over the warm buns before serving.
