Ingredients
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups ultragrain flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp chilled butter
- 1 cup pomegranate arils from a pom wonderful pomegranate
- cooking spray
- 1 large egg white
- 2 tbsp sugar
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Whisk the milk, sugar, lemon zest, vanilla, and egg in a bowl.
- Rub the chilled butter into the flour, baking powder, and salt until crumbly.
- Stir in the milk mixture and pomegranate arils until a soft dough forms.
- Pat the dough into a thick round, cut it into 10 wedges, and place them on the sheet.
- Brush the wedges with egg white, sprinkle with sugar, and bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
