Ingredients
- 4 lb russet potatoes
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp salt (optional)
- freshly ground black pepper to taste (optional)
Steps
- Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks, then place them in a large pot with salted water.
- Boil the potatoes for 20 minutes, until a fork passes through easily.
- Warm the butter, cream, and milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
