Ingredients
- 2 packages (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 2 cups warm 2% milk
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 2 tsp salt
- 9 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 tbsp butter
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and lightly coat two baking sheets with cooking oil.
- Stir the yeast into the warm water and rest for 5 minutes.
- Mix in the warm milk, shortening, sugar, eggs, salt, and yeast mixture, then gradually stir in the flour.
- Divide the dough into four portions, roll each into a circle, cut each circle into six wedges, and roll the wedges into horns.
- Place 24 rolls on the baking sheets, rest them for 10 minutes, and brush them with melted butter.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden and the centers are fully baked.
