Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked brown rice
- 1 cup raw walnuts
- 1/2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1/2 white onion
- 1 tbsp each chili powder blend
- 1/2 tsp each sea salt and black pepper
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 1/2 cups cooked black beans
- 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
- 3 1/2 tbsp vegan bbq sauce
Steps
- Heat a grill to medium-high and lightly oil the grates.
- Chop the walnuts finely, then mix them with the rice, onion, chili powder, salt, pepper, and coconut sugar.
- Mash in the black beans, breadcrumbs, and barbecue sauce until the mixture holds together.
- Shape the mixture into five equal patties and chill them for 5 minutes.
- Grill the patties for 5 minutes per side, brushing them with more barbecue sauce during the final minute.
