1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract

2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tsp grated orange zest

Steps

Heat the oven to 350 F and grease baking sheets with oil.
Beat the butter, shortening, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth, then beat in the egg, vanilla, almond extract, and citrus zests.
