Chocolate Cherry Fudge Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp almond or vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with cooking oil.
  2. Stir the cake mix, cherry pie filling, eggs, and extract in a large bowl until combined.
  3. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 minutes, until the center is set.
  4. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, then stir in the sugar and milk.
  5. Boil the mixture for 2 minutes, remove it from the heat, and stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the glaze over the warm cake and cool for 5 minutes before cutting.
