Ingredients
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 lb 2 large granny smith apples
- 1/2 cup cranberries
- 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash
- 1/2 tbsp coarse sugar
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tbsp milk
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then cook the apples, sugar, and cranberries for 8 minutes.
- Place the puff pastry on the baking sheet, cut side strips, and spoon the apple mixture down the center.
- Fold the pastry strips over the filling, brush the top with the egg wash, and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until puffed and golden.
- Stir the powdered sugar with the milk, then drizzle it over the warm braid.
