Ingredients
- 12 ounce jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp pesto
- 1 egg
- salt and black pepper
- 24 ounce marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- fresh basil (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F.
- Boil the shells in a large pot of salted water for 8 minutes, then drain them.
- Stir the ricotta, Parmesan, pesto, egg, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.
- Spread the marinara in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and fill each shell with the ricotta mixture.
- Arrange the shells in the dish, cover them with mozzarella, and bake for 12 minutes, until the filling is firm and hot.
