Ingredients
- 2 ripe peaches
- 1 container (6 oz) fresh blackberries
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- vanilla ice cream (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and melt the butter in a 9-by-13-inch baking pan for 5 minutes.
- Whisk the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk the milk, egg, and vanilla into the dry mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter, then arrange the peaches and blackberries on top.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the fruit and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until golden and set.
- Cool the buckle for 10 minutes before cutting.
