Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- heaping 1/2 teaspoon anise seeds (optional)
- 3 tbsp plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp melted salted butter (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh italian parsley (optional)
Steps
- Stir the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl, then rest for 5 minutes.
- Mix in the flour, salt, yogurt, olive oil, and anise seeds until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly oiled surface for 5 minutes, cover it, and let it rise for 20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 6 pieces and roll each piece into a thin oval.
- Heat a large dry skillet over medium-high heat and cook each naan for 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- Brush the hot naan with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley if using.
