Ingredients
- 25 g /1oz butter
- 8 slices thin bread
- 50 g /2oz sultanas
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 350 ml /12fl milk
- 50 ml /2fl oz double cream
- 2 free-range eggs
- 25 g /1oz sugar
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and butter a 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
- Butter the bread slices and arrange them in the dish with the sultanas and cinnamon.
- Whisk the milk, cream, eggs, and sugar in a medium bowl.
- Pour the custard over the bread and let it stand for 5 minutes.
- Bake the pudding for 35 minutes, until golden and the egg custard is firm.
