Ingredients
- 1 can red kidney beans
- 1 can black beans
- 2 cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 can tomato paste
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 onion
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1 red bell pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp thyme
Steps
- Drain and rinse the beans, then chop the onion, bell peppers, and garlic.
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat, then cook the onion and peppers for 6 minutes.
- Add the garlic, chili powder, cayenne, and thyme, and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beans, and water.
- Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
